(риск противной стороны) Риск, который любая из сторон договора (противная сторона) принимает на себя при выполнении обязательств, вытекающих из контракта. На товарных рынках, например, покупатель определенного товара сталкивается с рыночным риском (market risk) (риском того, что цена на этот товар упадет); в то же время существует и риск для противной стороны, состоящий в том, что продавец окажется неплатежеспособным или по какой-либо иной причине не сможет выполнить контрактные обязательства. На таких организованных рынках, как Лондонская биржа фьючерсов и опционов (London FOX) и Лондонская международная биржа финансовых фьючерсов и опционов (Lon-don International Financial Futures and Options), подобные риски сокращены до минимума, поскольку противной стороной контракта становится Лондонская клиринговая палата (London Clearing House (LHS)), т.е. покупатель обязуется купить у Лондонской клиринговой палаты, а продавец обязуется продать Лондонской клиринговой палате (см.: novation( новация)). (FUTURES AND OPTIONS EXCHANGE) (Лондонская ФОКС; Лондонская биржа фьючерсов и опционов) Товарная биржа, созданная в 1987 г. на базе Лондонской товарной биржи (London Commodity Exchange), которая сама появилась после Второй мировой войны в качестве преемницы Лондонских биржевых залов коммерческих торгов. Лондонская ФОКС помещается в специально построенном для нее помещении биржи в Доке Св. Катерины, где она действует совместно с Международной нефтяной биржей (international Petroleum Exchange). На ней продаются такие товары, как какао, кофе, сахар-сырец и сахар-рафинад, а также такие сельскохозяйственные продукты, как картофель, соевая мука, пшеница, ячмень, свинина и ягнятина. Частью общего рынка данных бирж является Балтийская международная биржа фрахтовых фьючерсов (Baltic International Freight Futures Market) (BIFFEX). (LIFFE) (Лондонская международная биржа финансовых фьючерсов и опционов) Рынок финансовых фьючерсов (fmancial futures), открытый в 1982 г. на Лондонской Королевской бирже для того, чтобы дать возможность проводить операции с опционами и фьючерсными контрактами в пределах Европейского временного пояса, включая сделки с государственными облигациями, контракты на основе фондовых индексов акций и других ценных бумаг, сделки с валютой и процентными ставками. В 1991 г. Международная биржа финансовых фьючерсов въехала в свое собственное помещение в Лондонском Сити. Клиент, желающий купить или продать опцион или фьючерс, звонит брокеру биржи, который передает инструкции на свое место в торговом зале. Клерк, работающий там, передает их торговцу брокера, действующему на площадке, где совершаются торги ( pit), который и заключает сделку с другим торговцем. Ее условия сообщаются в Лондонскую клиринговую палату (London Clearing House), выступающую в качестве гаранта. В 1989 г. была введена автоматическая (электронная) система заключения сделок, но она действует только после того, как на бирже прекращается заключение сделок “живьем”.
